Aug 1, 2018She was a life-long resident of Madison County born September 27, 1934, daughter of the late Ray and Tommye Hudson Johnson.She was a retired postmaster of the Big Hill Post Office and member of Pilot Knob Baptist Church. Shirley was an accomplished seamstress, outstanding gardener, flower gardener, and very dedicated to her church where she served as Sunday School teacher and member of WMU (Woman’s Missionary Union).Survivors include 3 children, Steve Deaton (Kaye), Renee Deaton, Regayle Deaton; grandson, Robert Deaton; sisters, Jean Gilliam (Delbert), Marilyn Brackett; sister-in-law, Emma Johnson; as well as a host of relatives, friends, and church family.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Deaton; son, Gary Deaton; and brother, Russell Johnson.Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Monday, July 16, 2018 at Pilot Knob Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Calico officiating. Burial will follow in the Deaton Cemetery. Visitation 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday at the church. Ladies Adult Sunday School Class will be Honorary Pallbearers. Born June 21, 1943 in Berea, daughter of the late Luther and Mary Montgomery Himes.Laura was a homemaker that loved her devotion to her family as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.Survivors include her children, Doug Himes (Pearl), Kim Anglin (Arthur), Kathy Bryant (Joe) and Tina Hammonds (Tim); two brothers, Roy Himes (Kay), Lewis Himes (JoAnn); mother-in-law Kathleen Lunsford; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Christopher, Jessica, Justin, Jessie, Zachary, Cody and thirteen great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her dear husband, the la...
